webGUI
webGUI is a discussion list for people interested in talking about the present and future of building thin-client applications which are pre-dominantly but not solely distributed and displayed using the standard available technologies of the world wide web: HTTP, HTML++, Flash, Java, plug-ins, ActiveX, new W3C standards, new XML standards, etc. There are other lists that discuss non-application uses of these and other technologies which include:
  • Interactiondesigners.com -- Specifically for trying to setup a new organization for Interaction Designers
  • SIGIA-L -- Information Architecutre, Navigation design, Interaction design, library science, and usability issues
  • AIfIA -- Information Architecture and general user experience design.
  • CHI-WEB -- Computer and Human Interaction
  • UCD -- User Centered Design
  • AIGAExperienceDesign -- Experience Design
  • ChattyFig -- FigLeaf software sponsors a bunch of SWF and Flash based lists for coders and users.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you want me to add to the list of lists here.

To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the Webgui Archives.

Before joining you may want to check out the article and discussion thread on Boxes and Arrows that I wrote that spawned the whole idea for this list. The most posts to an article in Boxes and Arrows history!
